Hope's pleasure in small things
This is my view down these days, and only half way there!
I love this babies enthusiasm for the out doors, just want to eat her up, the green wellies add to the cuteness.Sorry this is on the side, no idea how to change it over.
Walking backwards, spinning, rocking side to side.
Perhaps I should try them all too and see if it makes walking up the hill more fun!

Hope's party day
We had a fun packed day on Saturday with friends, which we used to celebrate Hope's birthday.
There was sledging.....which we all enjoyed.
Babies bundled up ready for hitting the slopes.
Heidi has a red coat this year. She is with her friend Audrey and her beloved Little Jones.
Then back to Kurt and Holly's for food....
and drinks. Holly makes the best coffee's in the world!
We had birthday cupcakes after a loud rendition of "Happy Birthday".
The plan was to have a catterpillar cake, but after a few mild disasters we christened these cupcake bushes and realised that they were cute enough!
Adorable! She was so thrilled to be allowed to pick one and have it to hereself!
Mmmmn, icing is good, why is it that you never let me have it before?
Suddenly this was all that was left!
And if that wasn't enough in the day, we headed off to Zoolights. Basically the whole zoo is swathed in lights and there are things like fire-pits and people making ice-sculptures and crazy fun games like making igloo's out of polystyrene blocks!

Working cattle
Tom was helping move cattle on Sat, so we all tagged along for a fun morning out at the farm.
There was a slightly stressful start when I set the alarm an hour late, and so woke the house with cries of 'Get up, we have to leave NOW'. In the end we were the first there! The mornings are so dark these days that it was still dark when we got there, but it was a time to make precious memories like these.
I have a movie of Heidi riding Honey but I can't get it to load, will keep trying. It is a huge blessing that our girls have places to run and play and ride in wagons safe. I had a teary eye watching my big girl chase after the kittens in her little wrangles and red ladybug sweater. We have much to be grateful for.

itchy itchy
There is something very sad about finding your small girl rubbing her head against the sofa skirt in an attempt to get some relief from the itching.
Some more drugs, an oatmeal bath soak and her tea later and she is tucked up in bed.
Her body is looking much better her face still blotchy and puffy.
I am praying for some measure of rest tonight, and to love her with enthusiasm if she needs me in the night.

How did this happen
I'm not sure how I missed this but our Hopie girl can sit up for short periods of time! Time marches on. Please excuse the washing in the backgorund...at least it's folded and only the kitchen cloths!

All grown up
Our little one has moved out....of our room and into the 'girls room' for a forever sleepover with her adoring big sister. We shall see how it goes. I suspect I will have 2 girls awake early but who knows.
I am sort of putting off going to bed cos I'll miss the little sighs in the night and the slight tossing and turning and the sound of her sucking on her fingers. But, on the other hand, I am looking forward to having the light on when I want to see where I left my pj's, and to be able to get my clothes out in the morning without holding my breath in a will I wake her kind of way. She has been such a different baby to Heidi, (who couldn't sleep the night at all) as she has only ever woken to feed at night and go right back to sleep. It's been so relaxing to know that when she gets put back into bed you can switch off because you really will be able to go back to sleep. Oh I am rambling on a bit!
She is also starting on food and has been enjoying the delights of banana, melon, carrots and broccoli, and a taste of whipped cream which she screamed for more of!.
Never a dull moment.
Speaking of which I was sitting with Heidi on the couch yesterday and said 'you have beautiful legs'. 'Thank you' came the reply, 'you have bumpy legs'. What is there as a reply to that?

So I guess an element of explanation is in order!
Hope Ruby Hindle was born at home on Wed. 9th December at 20.30 weighing in at 8lb9oz. She has been a joy to have in the house, and has performed her 3 required tasks daily of eating, filling her nappy and sleeping with skill.
It was a wonderful privilege to have her at home, with 2 midwifes in attendance, as well as Tom and a good friend Holly. Heidi was able to be at home all day playing with her new sticker book, and the Lord answered my prayers that I would have time between contractions to get her to bed myself at 7. She settled almost immediately and the contractions kicked off big time at just after 7. I can say that I never wish to repeat any of the 90 mins again! but it was a relatively easy birth. What was so beautiful is never having to have left the house, I could just pop through to our ensuite, and then come back to my bed, where Tom and I had all the time in the world to gaze at our beautiful gift. All in attendance had gone by 12.30 and we had a good nights sleep (as in good for a new born in the house!).
Her big sister came in in the morning and climbed into bed in front of me to lie and gaze at "my baby sister came". She was excited to see her hands and her ears and that she moved and made tiny noises. But 10 mins were enough and she sat up and asked to go downstairs and eat her breakfast! But I was thrilled that I could take my big girl downstairs and do something normal!
So, we have been blessed with two small girls, precious gifts to raise to know the one who gave them life, and who is the source of life everlasting. PLease join us in praying that this will be true for both our girls, they will grow to realise their need of the saviour, and turn to the Lord and be saved.
